Tasting Note:  Extended skin contact gives this wine its vibrant rose petal colour, and with it a wonderful summer berries and Rose aromas. Although this is a well-behaved wine, it shows certain vivacity.  This Rosé Grande Cuvée is a powerful, soft and harmonious wine. We recommend a serving temperature of 10 to 12⁰c.

  • Detail Information
  • The Tonnerrois region lies in the southern Yonne not far from Chablis. One of its communes, Épineuil (home of Alfred Grévin, founder of the Paris waxwork museum which bears his name), won the official right to identify its wines by name within the general appellation Bourgogne in 1993 for red and rosé wines.

The soils, full of white pebbles, resemble those of the nearby Chablis region (Kimmeridgian or associated limestones) and have definable qualities. Where the vineyard district is broken up into valleys, the vines are sheltered from the cold winds of the Langres plateau and reap the benefit of a favourable microclimate.

As regards with the domain, it was created in 1212 by Cistercian monks: the Abbaye du Petit Quincy is a welcoming place in marvelous surroundings. This Domaine found its winemaking vocation once again with the arrival of the Gruhier family in 1990. Since then, the wines have evolved under the influence of Dominique to become renowned amongst both professionals and amateurs alike as being emblematic of Burgundy (Coup de coeur Guide Hachette, Guide Gault et Millau, Revue des Vins de France, and won medals in Paris, Mâcon, etc...).
